Hybrid contact lenses can be superior to toric soft contact lenses for astigmatism. A new FDA approved Duette hybrid contact lenses can be superior to that of toric soft contact lens for patients with astigmatism, according to SynergEyes because they eliminate common problems associated with soft toric contact lenses such as less-than-optimal vision, night vision problems and instability on the eye toric soft contact lenses. Duette hybrid lenses are unaffected by rotation of the lens on the eye during wear, which can cause blurred vision and less-than-optimal night vision. Hybrid contact lenses are consisting of two parts. The center part with is made of rigid gas permeable material which provided a high oxygen permeability to the cornea and corrects farsightedness, nearsightedness and astigmatism and provides clear, high definition vision, even at night. The peripheral part consists of silicon hydrogel skirt that provides the all-day comfort of a soft lens with high oxygen permeability. These lenses also have the technology of healthyeyes surface treatment which acts like a wetting agent to the lens to keep the lens moist all the day.
