Hi,
I am 45 yrs.I got retina detachment in right eye in 2001. I underwent operation two times and there is no vision in right eye. In left eye i have taken four times laser treatment from 2001 to 2009 beside cataract operation done in left eye in 2009. Nowadays i can not get clear vision from left eye. Sir, tell me how can i prevent Retinal detachment in my left eye. I check my left eye with an Ophthalmologist at Ahmadabad every two months.
Kindly give me your advice.

Thanks for your Question

It looks like you have high Myopia and the laser treatment that you had was to protect the left eye from retinal detachment. This laser is called Laser Retinopexy.

After cataract surgery, some patient my have posterior capsular opacity which can cause gradual decrease in vision. The Treatment of this condition is YAG Laser Capsulotomy.

To Prevent Retinal Detachment in the left eye:

1- Laser Retinopexy.

2- Wear protective eyewear to protect your eye from accident trauma.

3- Regular follow up with dilated fundus examination.

4- Healthy food.
