Q 74- Ghost Images after incorrect prescription

Hi,
About two months ago my former optometrist prescribed a lens for my right eye that was 0.75 diopters to strong fir my eye. I wore these glasses for two weeks. During this time I experience double vision in my right eye. After two weeks I went back to my optometrist and they replaced the lens with a weaker one, but the double vision still remained. Now after two months and several glass and plastic lenses later the double vision is still persisting. My question is will this be permanent or will it correct itself over time?

Thanks

Thanks for your Question

These are the most common causes of Double Vision:

1- Astigmatism.

2- Anisometropia. It is a refractive error in which there is a difference between the refractive powers of both eyes.

3- Abnormal movements of the extraocular muscles which make each eye has a different final image from the fellow eye.

4- Dislocated natural intraocular lens.

I would prefer that you visit an eye doctor for complete ocular examination.
