Cataract surgery recovery

Cataract surgery recovery time will depend on the type of surgery used and if the surgery was complicated or not. In case of uncomplicated ECCE, the recovery time will range from 3 to 4 weeks because there is a large wound with stitches.

The wound needs time to seal and in case the patient is old or with other chronic systemic illness like diabetic mellitus, it might even takes more than 4 to 6 weeks for recovery.

In case of uncomplicated Phacoemulsification surgery, the recovery time will be between 7 to 10 days because the wound is small and no sutures in it, but also if you are older or you have systemic illness, it might be longer than that because the wound healing will be little bit slowly in these cases
