Thanks for your question
The first line to treat Open angle glaucoma is timolol eye drops. It can be used alone to treat it or can be used in combination with other eye drops, lasers and surgeries.
In order to know that timolol is enough as a single treatment for glaucoma you should have:
1- Intraocular pressure with timolol eye drops is within normal range, 10-21 mmHg. Higher measurements means it is not enough as a single treatment.
2- There are no changes in Visual field test and OCT of the optic nerve and retina. These tests should have no changes if timolol is enough as a single treatment, any changes means that timolol is not enough as a single treatment.
