Thanks for your Question
Serpiginous Choroiditis or Geographic Helicoid Peripapillary Choroidopathy is a chronic bilateral recurrent disease that affects the choroid, Retinal Pigment Epithelial cells and photoreceptors. It usually starts around the optic disc and radiate as a snake to the peripherally of the retina.
So far the only treatments that are used are Prednisolone, either oral, periocular injection of intraocular injections. Immunosuppressive agents such as azathioprine, cyclosporine and interferon have been used in the treatment. These medications are used just to treat the inflammation and they are not for cure.
So far, There is no eye drops that can be used for this disease.
There are two main problems with this disease: 1- Recurrence rate 2- Choroidal Neovascular Membrane formation which can be treated by laser, photodynamic therapy and Intraocular injections of steroid and Anti-VEGF.
I am not sure about the best centers in India to treat this condition and i don't believe there is a big difference in treatment of this disease between India and USA or UK. Many ophthalmologists in India had their training in these two countries.
