A 19- Response from online-eye-info.com/gel like tissue over the white part of my eye

Thanks for your Question.

This thing that you describe is the Conjunctiva which is transparent tissue that covers the white part of your eye(sclera). It is a mucous membrane and is attached to the sclera. Conjunctiva is covered with mucous secretion and tears.
When you said that it arranged in folds when you look to the side, it means that the conjunctiva is stretch or swelled.
Sometimes, especially after red eye, this conjunctiva can be swelled for a while and with time it will return to its normal size and thickness but also for some people this is a normal condition.

If this thing associated with other signs and symptoms such as eye discharge, redness, blurred vision or pain, it would be better to visit your eye doctor.
