Q 10- Blurry vision after a few seconds of contacts

I put in my contact on my right eye and my vision is perfect for a few seconds, then my vision becomes slightly blurred and I cannot see as well as I did in the first few seconds. This does not happen with my left eye and I have tried new contacts, eye drops and taking the contacts out. All to no avail. Please help!

You said that your right eye is blurred even after you bought a new contact lens which means that the problem is not from the lens but from your eye. Blurred vision after wearing a contact lens for few seconds means that either the lens is infected and you got corneal infection or there were deposits in the contact lens which stick to your cornea after lens wearing. These deposits can cause corneal abrasions and ulcer and if not removed can lead to corneal ulcer.

My advice is to visit an eye doctor for full ocular examination.

Here are some other causes of Blurred Vision:

1- Changes in contact lens power. With time refractive power can change.

2- Dry eyes can cause blurred vision especially with contact lenses.

3- Corneal abrasions which also are common with contact lenses.

4- Cataract. This is not related to contact lenses. Cataract is bilateral but can be asymmetrical in density. Unilateral cataract or cataract in one side can be caused by trauma or steroid eye drops in that eye.

5- Retinal diseases. There are wide range of diseases.
