Hi, My Wife recently had cataract surgery. Post surgery checkup revealed that part of the original lens, had surfaced and required removal, in a procedure called Washout. This was done in Dr's office, very traumatic. Second checkup revealed that he did not get it all; and , she had to go back in again. Fortunately this time it was done at the surgery center where more adequate anesthesia was used. She will now go back in 3 weeks for checkup again.
I cannot find anything on this to determine if this is Dr. error or just the "luck of the draw". We're not interested in seeking any damages or that sort of thing; however, we were notified today that we would be responsible for the costs associated with the latest procedure, which is substantial given the Surgery Center costs and costs of using an Anesthesiologist.
I am sorry to hear that. To have the right answer, i think you should ask your insurance company or have a legal advice from a lawyer. Good luck in that.
